Elecraft just announced that the first KX3's have shipped!

I don't know where I am in line, but I don't expect mine for a few weeks because I ordered the kit. Check out the news at Elecraft® Hands-On Ham Radio&trade

yay! How much is the ELECRAFT K3 or KX3??

They're two different products and the price is quite different. The price is also very dependent on which options you choose. The best thing to do is look at their order page to figure out what you want.

Anyone know if the KX3 is usable for 11 meters

seems the company does not want to even acknowledge my asking them the question
(besides HF in general..it also seems like would be an Excellent choice for 11 meters while hiking/back packing or mountain topping/DXing )

If the MARS modification works the same as the K3, then it will work for 11 meters, except for frequencies allocated to the CB band.

Yep, asking them that question is likely to put them in a foul mood. Would be nice though.

I know...i would use it mostly for typical HF..
However it also likely would work Excellent as a CB
(especially when i go mountain topping )

Supposedly..
they have Tech dept looking into it..

I understand it is a touchy thing for them..
Since it is basically an SDR radio..i am un sure if it is easier or harder to mod then a typical hardware verses SDR radios

A thousand dollars for a qrp CB radio seems no bargain to me! I'd rather use it for what it is intended for. As a qrp HF Amateur Radio. And even then, that's a pretty steep price to pay. Originally, they were saying around $700 for the radio. Now, it's just under a grand.
Elecraft makes some great radios. Just not my cup of tea.

The ic-703 is a qrp $$$ rip off only because it turns into a bidding war
