Constant whine noise?

What about your station grounds? If you are running a magmount with 100 feet of coax you need those station grounds.
Run your radio on a battery and cut power to your house and see if your noise goes away If it does the problem is in your house.

Yea I'll do that eventually use a battery. I used a dipole as well same sort of sound but fainter, also fot some static jumping my S meter ontop off it lol FML.

I had a high noise level in my home a while back. Finally found the culprits---a couple of energy saving light bulbs (the spiral type). When either was on, noise level was 7. When off, noise level was less than 1. Replaced them with the newer type of energy savers (not LED's---too expensive) and problem went away.

This pic was taken when I was experiencing the problem.

I'm going to have to do the battery trick someday so that I eliminate electrical noise by powering rig with another source. I think the last video was static due to storm.

In trying to find the source of the noise, I took my radio out to the garage and hooked it to the battery in my pickup. Still had the 7 noise level. The problem-causing light bulbs did not care how my radio was powered. o_O

Yeah I've got a shed load of LED bulbs here. Before that was the twisties type power saving. Wife never turns off the lights behind her. Lol
