He responded, added new photo of the back with the new SO-239. Photos were taken before rework done.
 
Do the alpha amps deserve the accolades they normally get? They look extremely well-built, but I know little to nothing about amplifiers. They obviously weren't built with 11 meters in mind. That much I know. There are many amateur radio amplifiers that seem to be made with the highest of workmanship, and Technology available, but read some bad reports on some of those high priced amplifiers.
Are they worth the very high cost of a new or second-hand one? My question is directed with amateur radio use in mind, of course.
I always stop and look at the photos of the alpha amplifiers that I see up for bid or sale on eBay, and they look like they were made by artisans. I'm not sure if that equates to a good piece of equipment.
