Yeah I was wandering why would my 2000 meter lights dim when I key down the mike? Also I am only seeing 1 1/2 watt dk swinging to around 6 watts on AM, also to around 6 watt on SSB seems awfully low to me. Tried to set the bias on the driver/final with no luck the pots seem to make no difference...
There is a 10watt resistor in line with the supermod switch I don’t see a choke everyone on the radio says it has a bad hum in my audio man I wish I could find out what is causing it
Yes I replaced all the rectifier diodes for that matter everything but the resistors have been replaced on the HV Power Supply board. Still has a hum in the audio transmitted could it be the Ohmite: Z-14 Axial Leaded High Frequency Inductor?
Ok I got the keying problem fixed it was the trimmer on the back of the box was out of adjustment but the hum is still in there also there is another trimmer inside the top cover by the driver tune varible capacitor what does it do? The tuning knobs are kinda erratic would cleaning them help and...
Now the amp will key but when it’s on high it won’t unkey really about to just give up on this old varmint and also people said there is a bad hum in my audio so yeah. I replaced all six filter caps so that should’ve took care of the hum I would think????
Got all the new caps in powers up fine but relay won’t click when I key the mike, if I manually push down on the relay it while having the radio keyed it transmits rf on the watt meter what could be causing this? I also replaced the doides and the two transistors on the hv power supply board.
Yeah I have amplifier board out of the Stryker SR – 497 HPC and was wanting to hook it up in my galaxy DX99v But have no idea where to hook it up at inside on the board of the galaxy and what parts I need to remove or add any help would be appreciated
