Got it. It works! Got my Gtrans cable with 8-din already on there. Radio set on 4800 bps in packet mode. Right away favorites list began to populate. No change in any added messaging functions but maybe my firmware is too old or gtrans doesn't do that. Either way. It works !

Spoke to the GTRANS people and their latest firmware works with the 350AR and Nuvi 350, you just need to adapt it yourself. So you get the GPS data cable for your GPS, The GTRANS cable, the yaesu serial cable for the radio, and wire them up properly. You will then see moving waypoints etc on...
