I don't have a spectrum analyzer in the shop but I can tell the untouched areas 2 I have has out of band emissions, It bleeds over on my computer speakers when keyed which the crtss6900v does not. I have npc off on the areas II because it looks super trashy on the o scope
Glad bells cb spilled the beans, I don't have the patience to randomly flip switches and such. The swing just kills me on these, I am really enjoying the crt ss6900v in that department.

Yep, I wont be buying one for personal use. Other users say that they may fix the garbage npc mode with a firmware update but you would be playing Russian roulette installing it.
These radios are nearly perfect for one like You who does not care for am operation, ssb and fm on this rig work nearly perfect. I have noticed running it as a base on 21 am that it gets lost in the mix during crowded band conditions. My yeasu has more punch an am than the areas II.
Disposable radio, buy a new one lesson learned. You can repair and return a screwdriver galaxy back to spec but these disposables not so much.
