Just wondering if anyone has tested or used IRF 520's, with what I've found, that have 93w output? Will these work? I've found 48w (that was the norm back in the day), 60w and 93w outputs. Want to know if it makes any difference. Thanks
I understand your point. I'm no radio electronics wiz. I've mostly had people work on my radio's. However, I had a 148 with all the goodies back in the day That did 45w all day long and never seemed to get hot. I ran that into my Texas Star 500V and pulled 800w out of it no problems. I ran that...
The point I see is that if I run a 2w DK with 40w swing into my 4 pill it does about 800 maybe 850 on a good day. And it doesn't cost $10 bucks for a useless 40w amp.
This link works. Do you happen to have the mod for IRF520's. I used to do the 520's back in the day (Like the '80's) so I'm in need of a refresher course. Thanks much.
Is this antenna as good as the Hy-Gain Vertical Antenna, 10/12M Super Penetrator 1.5kW - SPT-500? I've been using my SPT 500 since the seventies pushing almost 2000W with no problem. I thought I might check around for an antenna equal to or greater than what I have.
