My guess would be a bad cap somewhere in the audio chain. Since you're already planning on recapping anyway, it wouldn't hurt to move forward with that and see if it fixes the problem.

I use an inexpensive Celwave dummy load (I think I picked it up for around $30 on Ebay a few years ago) that is rated for 250w and has a -50dB sample port on it. Pretty simple design; the sample port is just a loop of wire inside the dummy load if memory serves me, but it's been a few years...

Definitely doesn't look 3d printed to me. Could still be a fake, but doesn't appear to be a homemade job. Might even be an in-house engineering sample, or perhaps a OEM mic sold to another electronics manufacturer? I can check my real 575-M6 this evening to see if the internals look similar.

Are you able to get the output on frequency? As long as the PLL and IF are stable, the exact frequencies are largely irrelevant as long as A+B-C=(intended frequency.) I would check at the top, bottom, and several in-between frequencies to make sure everything tracks properly, but if it's on...

For a 4 pin mic, starquad mic cable (the type typically used for XLR cables) should work well, and you can get the connectors on Amazon, Digikey, etc. If you need more than 4 conductors, shielded network cable like cat 5 should work. Make sure you use the mic audio and mic ground on the same...

It's also possible that the circuit only uses some combination of pins 1, 2, and 3. Kind of a strange design choice, but perhaps it was done to cut down on the number of unique components on the bill of materials. Either way, it's just a coil of wire, so you should be totally fine probing it...
