Thank you for your input. I'm using a the Yaesu G450 rotate and double wall pipe. I just wasn't completely sure how the radials would effect the performance of the beam.
So I posted this in the CB antenna forum with no response. I just need a little insight or someone experience with this. I've searched and searched and I've read several posts but still not getting a clear answer. I have a Maco V5000 and I'm about to add a Maco M103 beam on my tower ( horizontal...
So I've searched and searched and I've read several posts but still not getting a clear answer. I have a Maco V5000 and I'm about to add a Maco M103 beam on my tower ( horizontal ). The V5000 will be about 5 feet above the beam. Can I remove the ground radials on the V5000? I feel they may...
The pictures were just something I found online that gave me the idea. My brother is the shop manager at a local machine shop. They are building it for me.. I like this over a conventional tower and it works better with limited space. I'll be using a set of 4 element gizmotchy beams.
Currently I'm running a Sirio Gain master ground plane. I'm building a 40 foot crank up tilt tower mast for a set of 4 element Gizmotchys. My question is I'd also like to put the ground plane on the tower, but I'm not sure where or how it should be mounted in relation to the beams, if this is...

Eventually the antenna will be mounted centered of the bed behind the cab. I read the whole post in the link you posted. I understand how a mobile antenna works. The reason for the higher mount on this antenna is because the manufacturer specs say the load should be even out above the cab. On my...
So I took in all the information I received here and went back through everything. Turns out the jumper from the radio to the amp was to long. I have the radio keying 2 watts. The amp dead keys 200 and talks about 625. If you really get into it and rev the motor I've gotten almost 700 on the...
Thanks. I have a galaxy 88 I'm going to try and I'll definitely try different length jumpers. I have the stryker set to dead key 1 watt with the variable down and 10 watts all the way up.
Trust me I'm not new at this.. I've been around a while.. I've ran several different mobile rigs and base stations. My last mobile was a sweet 16. I've never run one of these xforce style boxes but I know better than to dead key 70 watts in it.
Just got the amp. And yes I probably should have went with a straight 4 pill but I did try a older radio and still have the same issues. Thought it was coax or antenna. Running new 213 coax and predator 10k. Bought the mfj analyzer to make sure everything was right. Now my only thoughts are the...
It does have the peak kit in it. Ive even backed the radio down to where it won't key the amp and start turning it up until it does and 500 watt dead key.
