Just bought a Kenwood 940sat on ebay, but it has no mic. All I have is an xtreme 2018 with an icon adapter. I'm pretty sure I come and Kenwood are different. Looking for a cheap mic to get on the air. Any ideas?

I guessing I should have knowno you wouldn't recommend it at random. I will give her a try, thanks. Also, do you know what diode I need to clip to make this old junky Kenwood loud?

No need to clip diodes, just use a D-104 mic and volt it up with two 9V batteries and turn it up to 11!

Don't forget the nitro knobs and the blue led's.

Wait a minute. I'll bet there's at least one FT-450 out there somewhere with 'em. And talkback and echo.
Can't picture an FT-3000 or IC-7600 that way, but you never know. :p

Them danged old hams are always turning that vfo up to 11 and running a lollipop. I can't figure out if I'm moving up, or slipping down in the world of radio?

Nooooooooo!! put an MC 60A on it.

Question:when you turn it off, does the meter "slam" to the right and then slowly return to the left?
