$575 for a Imax 2000; Needs your reviews

At ~$120; it is an OK antenna for the CBer and Ham alike, since it will easily perform well on 10, 11, 12, and 15m bands. As a CB antenna alone, it works well too. Retired my Imax 2k a couple of years ago and now run with the Sirio Vector 4000 - and haven't looked back. Had to pay more (`$180) for that one; but a solid built antenna that is 100% metal. Of course, it isn't for 10, 12, and 15m any more; but it does CB exceptionally - IMO . . .

At $575; I'd say forget about the Imax - you can do MUCH better AND cheaper . . .

Why so much?

Sellers jack the price up when they're out of stock on an item. It's implied, that no one would try to buy it at the inflated price. Once the item is back in stock, they'll go back and edit the correct price. If they didn't do it this way, they'd have to delete the listing, then pay another insertion fee.

Of course... There's always the possibility that he a dumb ass.

Or . . . just looking for one . . .

Well, shoot. I thought it cost more because it was a special edition model with increased power handling capability, wind resistence and bandwidth available in a variety of colors. (n)

I've clearly got far too many electrical impulses in my brain firing at random rather than in sequence. o_O Guess my wife is right. I don't drink enough water.

Bingo. And if someone is dumb enough to pay that the seller will just buy one from Copper or somewhere and then send that one off. They could even drop ship it lol.

how far outside of 11 meters can you go on the vector and still have a safe vswr for your radio ?

I got mine off Craigslist it was brand new condition like 3 yrs ago for $60 it was a decent antenna but like 4 month it was struck by lightening and wiped out.

I don't recall offhand the price that it's offered by Cheap ham, but it's the cheapest price I've ever seen on an IMAX 2000. And I don't ever recall checking out the cheap ham site page, and seeing them out of stock.
Maybe this one has 24 karat gold plated copper coils. All joking aside, I think the member who pointed out having to reList It when they got them back in stock, makes the most sense. 73
