RIP 4040

Ya I know this is an old thread.

Just thought about 4040 and wanted to jump in for those that didn't know him personally.

I came across 4040 like most others, over the air. He was on all day long. He ran a batch plant and had his set up in his office. Right next to the SF Bay.

We got together for the first time in person and he shows up in a sedan with a antenna with a coil setting up about 10 feet above the roof with a very short stinger. It was a Predator 10K custom made for him by Kale. BTW I got to know Kale well and he was always a gentleman and did special things for me concerning CB radio.

Anyway back to Scott. This guy lived and slept CB in all forms but really it was all about modulating over the air.

We even played a few rounds of golf together, his dad joined us one time.

He helped me with an install once and I worked with him at a shootout, Jame Boys. I was pretty picky so I did the remote signal strength testing when setting up is multiple antenna system beam. Scott like to delegate and enjoyed a posse but really I think he was happy to see other's be involved. He had a big heart.

I always felt he didn't take good enough care of himself though.

Anyway i drove the greater SF Bay Area and he would be on the air all day with his base set up. He would talk local if he knew you but mostly wanted to talk skip.

Some didn't like him because he talked like a black man. Whatever that means.

He put on a show and enjoyed himself and all his contacts.

Ya he pissed off some of the jealous locals, but wtf it is CB radio, right!

Well I suppose many have forgotten him and some never heard of him and he was a CB'er at heart more than most and this is a fact.

RIP 4040 you're still remembered by this long ago friend.

Strange to see this post pop up and I was just thinking about 4040 the other day. I miss talking with that guy, he always was in a good mood when I talked to him on the radio.

I still remember a funny time when I went to talk on the bowl one day (back when I used to run a sizable amount of power) and after calling out for a good 15 minutes and not getting a single reply 4040 comes back to me on and says

"Brew you sound like sh## on the bowl today"

"I was wondering why no one was coming back to me, what do you mean I sound like sh##, what sounds like it's wrong"

"you sound like sh## on the bowl because you're on SSB"

and then he busts out laughing and I look down and realize I've been on LSB the entire time and had a good laugh.

Scott “4040” Raisor Obituary​

Scott was born in Redwood City on May 18, 1964, to Charles and Nancie Raisor. He graduated from Half Moon Bay High School in 1983. He loved Half Moon Bay and enjoyed surfing and fishing on the coast.
After graduation, he joined Local No. 3 and worked for Granite Rock in Redwood City for more than 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, Vanessa Raisor, and children Valerie Cole, Charles Raisor, Destiny Raisor and Seth Raisor, and grandaughter Hailey. He is also survived by his grandmother Grace Williams, his father, Charles Raisor, his mother, Nancie Raisor Pacetti, as well as his stepmother, Marilyn Raisor, brother Daniel Raisor, sister Stacy Mora, niece Alexis Alexander, nephew Agustin Mora, stepsister Shannan Riley Gotschall, and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his stepbrother, Patrick Riley.
He recently moved to Redding, Calif., with his family and has many posts on Facebook with his family that he loved so dearly. Scott loved the Dallas Cowboys and, as a fan, he traveled all over to see his team play.
He was a multi-band radio operator; we have heard from so many of the people he has talked to all over the world, and about how much they enjoyed his wonderful storytelling. So this is 4040 — Scott Raisor signing off.
The family will be holding a celebration of life in September and will send out a notice for family and friends to attend.
