75m AM window?

3880 and 3885 are basically the call frequencies...once in awhile on like Big Iron Day(not sure when that is anymore) you will hear traffic at 3875 but otherwise that's about it AM wise in the General section of 75m.
I understand there is another slot down in the Extra portion but not sure where that is exactly.
All the Best

Big Iron Day? Do you mean the Heavy Metal Rally? That's what I know it as. Maybe it is a different event. The rally is the last weekend of the year between Christmas and New Years but traditionally the big AM stations come out on New Years eve and last well into the following day. http://www.amrally.com/

The 80m AM window is 3870-3890.

Yes CK heard it called both...I always go up and listen for N9WQ (Super Dave from WIS.) Normally he runs a BC-610 Hallicrafter (I think) but also has a Johnson Invader and lots of other vintage goodies he has restored (he really loves the vintage Hallicrafter equipment) I think he has the entire trailer set-up(less generator truck:whistle::LOL:)SSR-299 ???...Anyway always fun to listen to them on those nets on New Years Eve +/- a few days.
I could check-in...but only have an Yaesu FT-920 that has been modded for ESSB/AM (6kc filters/AM Board) really have to keep it "cranked back" on regular rag chew SSB and watch the ALC(about 1/2 scale)other wise it gets wide!:LOL:...but have been told it sounds "OK" with carrier set about 15 watts and the PR-781 Heil Mic...but just don't get on AM anymore...since I sold my old Johnson and Drake Gear...
All the Best

I have also heard from some 6'ers about using 50.400 AM this weekend...but unless 6 gets A LOT better...sure that will be just a local "thingy"...
Even though there was SSB opening to the Caribbean last evening...FIGURES...I was out with the XYL!:cry::LOL:

So there is no generally agreed upon AM window, it just depends on who you ask. Got it (y)

Last line post #3 above. Google it. The 80m AM window is 3870-3890. The AM calling frequency is 3885. This is the general North American window. Other countries/continents have their own due to restrictions on frequency allocations and/or mode restrictions. Try operating AM outside that window and the asshole operators will do everything they can to QRM you. Some even QRM the AM window on purpose too.
