Hey guys,
I grew up talking on CB radios. I still have a mobile that I talk on from time to time. I have been researching (online) for info to getting my licence. I know I need to get a study manual for my tech licence. I have found a few different manuals online. Which one is a good manual to study?
Also, I found a local club that gives the tests and there is one coming up next month. Is it too fast to try for the test next month?
Any suggestions would geeatly be appreciated. Thanks.

Clubs that test usually provide study classes, too. I used the Gordo book and studied online. Depending on how much time you have to study, a month is certainly do-able. Good luck!

Brett

Hamstudy.org free. Study flashcards till for an hour, do sample test.. repeat as there are over 400 possible questions.. Do until you get above 88 percent or so. You should pass real test then.

Thanks for the replies. I have started reading the flash cards on Hamstudy.org. I have trouble with the abbreviations in the questions. I believe I still need a manual, to help me understand more about the operations and features that are mentioned in the questions.

I used The No-Nonsense Technician Class License Study Guide by Dan Romanchik. Worked great for me. I ordered it from Amazon. Am now reading his study guide for the General License.

I also used Hamstudy.org for the practice tests.

I've been having trouble getting on the site here.
On the 12th, I passed my test for tech. I ordered a HT as a beginner radio. It will be here Friday. As I wait for my call sign, I will be researching and learning how to program my radio.
Once again, thanks for the suggestions on where and how to study for my exams.

Thanks for all of the replies. I am official now. My call sign is KN4JQP (I updated my profile). I also programmed my radio with repeater frequencies I my local area. None if the repeaters close enough to make a contact. I am now looming into making a 2 meter beam.
