I love those little radios, but a man can buy 5 of them for that price. I looked up what all had been done to deserve that price tag and, it's $15 in parts. BUT, they claim it's the best radio known to man afterwards lol

They are adding those nitro knobs and an echo board so quite abit more then 15 bucks . That said 600 is stupid money for that radio.

Like most hobbies, and the items used to enjoy them thinking about purchasing CB's for a possible future monetary gain is a very bad investment. Buy items because you like them. In all honesty I'd rather spend the extra almost $200 on one of those asymod strykers 955's. Even though that's about as good as an investment as buying one 929 dx disco ball (or more?!)
Why by 3? They're probably golden screwdrivered (no scope needed tuned/aligned because I'm the best and I don't need no stinking scope) and after a couple of months will need repair that don't fall under any warranties if there are any warranties to begin with. You have to buy equipment that's aesthetically and operationally nice and is something that just grabs you but if you ignore the build quality it's just a waste of your time and money. You have to own it. Unfortunately there isn't much on the CB radio Market that's Worthy. On the other hand there are companies producing the highest quality HF amateur radio equipment ever conceived. The whole argument about weather to ticket or not ticket shouldn't be the issue. The issue should be does 1 purchase a 40 year old antiquated CB radio or a modern HF? A simple Mars modification will have you sounding, and hearing like one of the best chicken banders on the airwaves. Unfortunately without a ticket one is purchasing a glorified Cb radio. All those bands and frequencies located within those bands, and you can't do anything but listen I say so what! This top-of-the-line equipment from 40 years ago is wonderful to own for Nostalgia reasons but if you can't repair them on your own just go for a brand new HF transceiver. And the CB craze sweep tube amplifiers, don't let me even get started on that subject. I've learned so much since since my membership to this site almost 4 years ago. Thanks to all the Elmer's that helped me to gain the the knowledge to know what's good and what's not. If that's all anybody learns here but youbut you are in good shape. 73's

Kinda like to know what they are calling "big finals" i guess it's like 15 years ago when they advertised big galaxy finals as cobra upgrades when it was just the 1969.

You mentioned the asymod, I looked hard at one of the 939 asymod radios. Asked on a few forums about it. watched the video on YouTube and all that. Technically speaking, what is it? To an uneducated chrome screwdriver like me, it seemed to be a speech processor.
