Just wanted to wish everyone here and your Family's a very Happy Thanksgiving Week and, Thanksgiving Day.

I have a brand new Sigma 5/8 silver rod with the 3 small radials still in the box.
All I've done is open it and look at it and right back in the box it went. When I bought it I believe I paid about $78 dollars for it. That was 3 yrs ago or so. Where I live I'm not allowed to put up any antenna...
Ordered a new Predator 10K finally. A single coil with the 27 in shaft.
I can't wait to compare it myself to my 102" SS Whip and see how much better it is!
Almost everyone on this site says they will out talk and out hear the 102 so
I can't wait to witness these results myself!
If it does, I...
Well, I received my President Lincoln ll+ and it seems to be doing really well. Was told by a couple truckers it sounds really good and clean. Walcott sent a letter with it saying they tested it with a scope and something else but can't remember what they called it. Will have to dig the box out...
I just received my new Breedlove quick disconnect w/ SO-239 # 205 mount this morning and
let me tell ya, this thing is nice!
Built like a tank! And, extremely well machined. In every possible way this is the best quick
disconnect I've ever seen. It looks extremely strong.
I will be trying it out...
Ok all. What's your best/favorite 3 mobile antennas?
I'll start.
1. 102" SS Whip
2. Sirio Performer 5000
3. 63" Almighty Antennas AA-700
I've had better local and skip contacts with these 3 than any others in my collection.
Runner ups are the 7' Skip Shooter and 5' Wilson Silver Load, also the...
Just got my new Hustler SSM-3 spring in the mail this mornin'.
Looks like a great spring but, it's not as strong as the old one I've been
using that my Dad bought back in 1967. I'm bettin' it does a good enough
job though. Gonna try it after while with my 7 ft Skipshooter on it.
Hey all. Can the new President Lincoln ll be modified to work on 11 meters as well as 10 and 12 meters?
And, does anyone on here have/use one and if so, what are your thoughts on the radio?
How does it perform on the different bands?
Does it drift on SSB?
Thanks in advance for any info.
I just made me very first contact across the pond this morning in my pickup sitting at my usual DX location.
With the "307", in Yorkshire England on channel 37 lsb.
Using my Galaxy DX 94HP and the Almighty Antennas 63" Mobile CB Antenna w magnetic mount.
My first contact ever, across the pond...
I have a
Straight Bar Front Bed Rail Bracket # 313
Breedlove mount I plan on mounting on my pickup truck bedrail dead center right behind the rear window. The top of it will still be about 8 inches or so below the top of the cab. I've never owned a Predator 10k but, after all the great reviews...
I have an old Philippine made Uniden 76XL and it works great. Are they worth aligning and "Peaking and Tuning", even by someone who knows what they're doing or, is it still just an old radio that really won't perform that much better after having it done.
Just purchased one of the Almighty AA-700, 63" antennas today. Small coil on bottom, spring included and a whip making the entire antenna 63 inches long. Comes with a very good mag mount and stays on up to 70 at least.
That's as fast as I got today anyway. But, it tuned in to almost perfect...
Just bought a Browning BR-28 from a guy who said he couldn't get the SWR below a 2.
So, I mounted it about a foot behind the cab of my truck on the top of the bedrail to a
homemade quarter inch steel plate I made and the old 1960's heavy duty barrel spring, (don't know the brand), to mount my...
Does it hurt or, will it affect the President Andy radio in any way if I use a 4 pin power mic on it?
Many Presidents are 6 pin but the Andy I bought new last yr is 4 pin.
These radios come with an "electric", factory mic, I believe. I think I read that.
Just looking for a bit of info before I...
