I have 13v at the amp. Lengthened jumper between radio and amp to 6'.
Borrowed an old Midland with SSB from my brother. This is what i came up with:
1. Switch on AM with Pre amp off: 1 relay chatters real fast as soon as its keyed
2. Switch on AM with Pre amp on: Both relays chatter real...
I've deadkeyed up to 5 watts and also modulated, as soon as it keyed up it starts chattering. Doesnt matter if its dead key or modulated.
Just using a basic mic.
Maybe its time to toss it and get a new one?
What exactly does a dummy load do versus having the antenna hooked up?
With the amp on and dead key the relay chatters and the SWR needle is above three.
I don't have a dummy load to test it with.
Dead keying about 1.5 watts
Yes the battery is fully charged.
Thanks for sticking with me
Im using a battery with a charger hooked up to it right now. I checked for the proper connection of my coax cables, so that isn't the problem. And the relay chatters as soon as I key up.
I dont' have a radio with SSB to check and see if it does it on SSB. Only been on AM. Have a steady 13v feeding it, only drops around .3v when keyed up.
Hello all. Was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction to figure out why the relay chatters when trying to TX. The RX seems to be working ok. I'm new to all this and thought this would be a good one to experiment with. Any info would be greatly appreciated--Thanx in...
Was wondering if there was any amps out there that would work with the Galaxy 98VHP. Would I be gaining anything by running a TNT1200 amp by Xforce? Any suggestions, comments are welcome. :confused1: Thanks.
