I have my galaxy 2547 for sale. I am the original owner. It has the p5 p6 channel mod (switches located on back) and has been tuned. It dead keys 1-6 watts and swings to about 25 watts from either setting. It has a small knick in face plate and small dent in top cover but other than that it is...
Ok so I have been thinking and I have two questions. I have been researching coax jumpers and how sometimes with certain amps etc.. You can change the length of the jumper and get your swr down, but people claim that your swr isn't changing it's just fooling your meter. So here is my theory...
I just heard some guys talking about how you can take false teeth, glue them together and then and then glue them on top of your antenna and it will greatly improve your receive. I rolled in the floor lauging for an hour it was so funny because some of the guys thought they were missing out and...
Ok guys picked up an old president washington with the 858 PLL. The relay was chattering and there was no transmit. I read where you could ethier replace C179 or remove it. I removed it and the relay stopped chattering but it still has no transmit. Could it be because I didn't replace C179(2.2...
Just picked up a mint condition uniden washington with the 8719 PLL. It has amazing recive but the modulation could be better. Every now and then it looses modulation completly and I think it's in the stock hand mic, I hope anyway. You can unkey, wiggle the cord and then it will come back. I...
It's been awhile since my last post because I have been very busy, sorry about that. My question is that over on the the world radio club forum they have a weekly check in where all of the world radio members check in on 38lsb and chat. I thought maybe we could put something together similar for...
I just talked to 0302 Washington(on 27.385 lsb) and heard a couple of stations in Hawaii. I have also been listening to 399 in South America but can't seem to make contact. Conditions aren't much but they're improving. This is the first time in about a month for me, any one else been having any...
I have a radio here I am working on for a friend the final is blown and it is a 2sc-1096. I seem to be having trouble finding that one but I was wondering if there was another type that would be a direct replacement? By the way the radio is a teaberry big "t". Any ideas? Also any tune up points...
For now I seemed to have traced the problem in my radio to the mic. I am still using the hand mic and waiting to see if the modulation drops again. In the mean time I am looking at ideas for a new mic. I have a galaxy 2547 base that I would be using the mic with. I am mostly interested in desk...
Hey guys got my new jumper the other day and started talking on the radio again. Yesterday I noticed that once in a while the modulation would drop on my radio. I was using the internal meter and it would drop from a around 100% to about 20%-30%. I was curious if it was just the meter so I got...
Hi guys. I am sure some of you remember me, I was very busy over the last few months which left no time for the radio or this forum. This morning I fired my radio up, to find to my knowledge, my jumper was bad. When I key up with my swr meter in line my rf meter on the radio moves just a little...
I finally got around to moving my antenna up. I moved it from 16 feet to 40 feet to the feed point. I noticed a 1 S unit increase in my rx and tx, so it was worth the effort and time to me. Also I have a 1:5 swr on channel 1 and 40 but it raises up to 1:8 on channel 15 and then slowly goes back...
Conditions on 38lsb haven't been very good the past couple of days and I managed to only make a few contacts. This evening I turn on my radio to 38lsb and not one person is on it. I hope some good conditons get here soon, any one else agree?
Which would be a better amp. I would be driving it at 2 watt dead key and between 25 and 30 watts swing. I would like to have a good sounding signal on am and ssb. What kind of power would I see out of these amps? I noticed the TNT 350 has a fan built in so thats a plus. What do you guys think?
I have made several contacts on 38lsb in the past couple of days here are just a few.

I talked to 147 in Ontario Canada today on 37lsb. He said he was using a 23 channel midland radio with a modification to talk on channel 37. Is this possible? By the way he was hitting me with an S 7 and he said the radio was doing 12 watts.
