    FTM-350 audio problem

direct quote (spoken somewhat softly) from a Yaesu tech support person - when I asked that same question: "they want you to purchase genuine Yaesu accessories" the factory MLS-200 extenal speaker itself has a stereo plug, with the connections to the tip & ring only.

I haven't tried the smart beaconing. Once I initially got things working - I went back to that old aggage "if it works... don't... " I also would like to hear from anyone that has worked with this feature.

    Duplexer questions

I just checked my pass/reject duplexer and it read the same zero ohms (short). I am equally surprised. the only way I've ever known to tune a duplexer is with the jumpers installed. Talking insertion-loss (and not isolation between sides)... YOWZA !!! an average duplexer will have a...

    Yaesu FTM-350: More lockup problems

UPDATE I was just informed: "The latest software came with a warning about the Wx channel problem, and said that one way to avoid it is to set 2 stations in memory. I guess this prevents the lock-up, but I have not tried it yet."

thr previous two Hamventions I attended (2006 & 2007)... I never went inside; instead concentrating on the outdoor flea-market booths. And that took an entire day !!!

I saw that thing; looks like it belongs on the Space Station !! I work with some of the DARA officers... got this info today: they gave 320 license exams at the event; about 200 were to first time hams (only a few didn't pass). The rest of the exams given were for upgrades; most were to...

Dayton Hamvention 2010 Pictures and Video

a co-worker bought a used Icom IC-7000 in the flea market; and gave it to me to check out on the service monitor this morning. At first I thought he had receiver sensitivity issues on the lower bands - and then noticed the dual antenna jacks. It works great. What a great rig; love the...

Dayton Hamvention 2010 Pictures and Video

I saw a lot of D-Star offerings... especially that DONGLE product. D-Star might gain momentum if -at least- one other mfgr embraces the standard. Although it looked like there were some unsold outdoor flea market spaces... the inside area seemed to be filled. The weather on Saturday was...

My T-Shirt had two purposes; one was to help no-coders have some pride in their aquiring a ham radio license. The other was to see how many haters are still out there. The dirty looks I received made me believe there are still a lot of them around. The haters sure do make it easy to spot...

Dayton Hamvention 2010 Pictures and Video

Thanks for the positive reply. I've been a no-code tech for almost 18 years and have tried since day one to show the older hams that no-coders can be model ham citizens. Well after 18 years of not making much progress in getting no-coders accepted... I decided to try a different approach...

I was there Saturday. I am very fortunate to live just 15 miles from Hara Arena... and try to never miss a Hamvention. You may have noticed me... I had this T-Shirt on: I want to thank the 40 or so people that during the day commented "nice shirt", others that asked to shake my hand...

    Yaesu FTM-350: More lockup problems

Lockup Issue Report When I initially received my new FTM-350R mobile (and yes... it is a "blue dot" updated model) - I didn't do much programing; instead waiting for the software to be released. I received the RT Systems software and USB cable last Tuesday and have slowly been adding...
