I never got the GPS unit for the 350R, just the Nuvi, all you should have to do is make the setting reflect the outboard GPS unit and it should be ok.

So I know the solution to this problem (for the meantime). Well I can solve it on my end but not for the others sending out beacons. This has been talked about on other forums but I thought I'd bring it here. I have also emailed Yaesu to see if they'll address it in their next firmware...

No it's not really all that bad. Just depends on how much you travel. I typically filter the IGates, Digipeater, stuff like that. Also I have the filter set to something like 100 miles. I pick up all the mobile stations and messages and bulletins. For the Nuvi 350 it will auto update the...

Nice, let us know how it turns out. Mine works great, though one thing to remember that unless you filter the beacons your Garmin's "favorite" locations will fill up (think it's around 200 or something). From time to time make sure you delete a bunch of the favorites you don't need. One...

    Yaesu FTM-350 APRS Review

I too have a similar issue, was wondering if it was a setting issue I created... My s-list populates but I don't get all the pop-ups. I'm using an Argent data cable to a Nuvi 350. Suggestions?

I know you can add specific callsigns in that will alert you differently from any other callsign. Haven't tried to block out all but the specific ones but I know you can filter out certain kinds of stations by type and distance.

Yeah it's pretty much plug and play. Just have to change the settings to allow the GPS data to go through the plug in the back of the radio. Easy to change, and make sure you update the radio's software to the current release.

I cannot be sure, but if it accepts waypoint data then it'll probably be in NMEA format. May have a winner there.

Consult with Argent Data System. They may be able to help you with the request. As long as the Garmin unit is cabable of NMEA data transfer

I've heard a lot of this and that but nothing firm other than the Nuvi 350. I'd be curious as well. Wouldn't mind having something with a bigger screen if it compatable with my GTRANS

I think at least 5 of 8 pins are used in the GTRANS cable (for the FTM-350). And it does plug into the back of the radio. As for the necessity of being able to view other stations on the Nuvi, I think it's a subjective thing. I already have the Nuvi, didn't want to spend the extra money on...

From what've read the GTRANS cable does not put the Nuvi 350 into FMI mode so we won't get messaging on the Nuvi's screen. I have mine in Waypoint mode and it populates as well. Seems a little slow at times to get a lock after starting the vehicle but I don't think it's a cable thing.
