Is the Grazioli G-Max really a 10/11m collinear? how does a coil delay the signal 180 degrees

As per the title, all the photos are in the link I did some googling some time back and found no info on how a coil between a 1/4 wave section and a 5/8 wave section will give the necessary 180 degrees of delay or if a coil can be used this way to make it work as a collinear as we know a 1/4...

using an uninsulated tower as an antenna

now my next tower is going to be insulated from the ground so it will be straightforward to use the tower for an antenna But my present tower is earthed very well into the ground ..my thinking is you can have an antenna like a Victor 4000 or any other completely DC-grounded antenna and match it...

Off Center Fed vertical 5/8 wave??? hows that work

I was researching the Shakespeare big sticks for some unknown reason and as i have been amassing materials to make an aluminum 17M vertical dipole .. a dipole was chosen as no radials are needed and simple construction with the coax going up inside the ally tube feeding the center and no...

How do this homemade loft find antenna work ??146mhz

this was posted on my FB page i will cut and paste my FB reply which abit of a description and my thoughts but you need to see the photos in the link to the original article below but what i am asking what type of antenna is it and how do it work any links to articles about this antenna would...

J-pole with a gamma match ???what's that all about

i see a photo of a 27mhz j-pole sold by a French company and in the photos it seems to have a gamma match....so i assume its no longer a J-pole i believe a J-pole is a end fed 1/2 wave with a 1/4 wave matching stub and behaves much like a 1/2 wave so if it fed with a gamermatch will it work...

    7/8th wave ..or not

I am a bit puzzled ..the Sirio Megawatt 4000 is a 11m mobile antenna ..its 6feet 6inch long and base loaded ..however, Sirio gives it out as a 7/8 wave ,, well i know a 1/4 wave don't need a matching device and a 7/8 wave will need one ..but the Sirio don't need one which would lead me to...

understanding the A99,, the 1/2 wave over 1/4 wave bit

Solarcon say the "A99 is a half wave over a quarter wave variable mutual transductance tuned antenna" i understand the variable mutual transductance bit,, that will be the tuning rings over the inductors i know its not a 1/2 wave physically over a real 1/4 wave as it will make it 9feet longer...

    Will it match..... question

OK we have a antenna that is not resonate but with a ATU we get a good match at the radio ..now if you take the SWR meter that is now between the radio and ATU that is currently reading a low SWR and move the meter to after the ATU so its in between the ATU and the antenna will the meter still...

    scaling antennas

on 11 meters I have often made a 5/8 wave based on the dimensions in the screen grab you can see it has a ring made from 6 feet copper tube ....now If I made a 20 meter 5/8 wave I can scale up the radiator that off the top of my head is 41 feet ish and radials at 16 or 17 feet ....but Will...

Vertical yagi without mast and coax interference

Ok i would like to run a vertical 10or11 (taking foundation soon) meter 4 element yagi but i understand they are not that successful as the mast and coax upsets the pattern i can get a fiberglass pole but that leaves the coax ...i was thinking on a home brew antenna i can make the elements...

    masts, coax,CMC or anything

i just had a thought...if i have a vertical end fed antenna (say 10-12 meters) will it affect anything in a good or bad way if the coax was feed down the inside of a long 2 inch mast as opposed to being taped to the outside of it ?..i was wondering about CMC

how is the sirio tornado 27 matched

how is the sirio tornado 27 matched ??? the coil dont have a tap...its just a coil ...there must be something else...maybe the rod from the feed point to the coil is a capacitor? a tube with a rod up the center ...bit like a non adjustable gammer match ...or am i missing something i dont no if...

Super 58 Magnum. Homebrew 5/8 vertical started

I have started construction of my new 11 meter 5/8 wave named the Super 58 Magnum…or S&M for short;)… will have a 5/8 radiator and four ¼ wave horizontal ground radials, insulated from the mast and have a built in coax choke. It is also going to be tested with the ¼ wave horizontal radial...

    Feed point position 5/8 vert

I had i thought when looking at a youtube vid (link below) What i am about to explain will look more obvious if you look at the vid When you have a 5/8th(or any length)with ground radials which are a set/tuned length for the frequency of the antenna.. and the so239 socket mounted to one...

any advantage with big diameter tube

I Read someplace a long time ago that a vertical antenna will have a wider bandwidth with bigger diameter tubing than one with small tube...i will guess that this is incorrect as a Imax works well and it only has a wire up it..... But does anybody know if their is a performance advantage with...
