I guess we are lucky here. The hamfest we put on does only draw about 400 or so people. But the guys over the fest really pay attention to who they are reserving tables for inside. They have not let anyone in yet selling junk computers and the like. they will ask what you are selling before you...
I would love to go and see some of the vendors you have there. But according to yahoo maps we are about 325 miles apart. I just figured out the gas for me to get there in my 95 bronco. 325 miles X 2 = 650 miles round trip divided 10 miles per gallon = 65 gallons of gas X $3.25 = $211.25 at the...
I don't know what you guys are talking about. This rig looks great. That radio looks like it has been in a Jeep CJ with the top off for a couple years on a dirt road. Plus with a added bonus it has a screen that is burning out and low output power. Looks like a hella deal for $160.00 plus...
I will be participating with my local club RARC ( Reelfoot Amateur Radio Club). We will be running 100 watts. I hope 6 meters is open cause that is where I want to play this year. More than likely I will be doing some Rtty as well. And some gota coaching too I imagine. We are supposed to have...
Thanks Cap'n. I always wondered about the shortwave bands but never looked them up. I have a couple Freq. I tune to to listen. But that is about it. Well time to listen to radio Havana to see why us Infidel Americans are so bad.

i have never used it. I have tuned through there a time or 2 but don't remember ever hearing anything. But I have never seen it on a band plan. Maybe other countries use that band.

well I am calling on 420 now. Been moving to 455 every so often to see if anyone is there. or is anyone hanging out on 375. 375 was a little less noisey a bit ago

One more piece of advise that my elmer told me right after I got my ticket. He said " Never ever buy a older rig off any of the action sites unless you personally know the guy. Cause most of the time you are going to stuck with someone else's headache." I did not listen. Had to learn the hard...
I have not operated any of the rigs you listed. But I have played on a Kenwood TS-590 last year at Field Day. Since then 2 of my friends have bought one and I have worked contacts on both of their rigs. I really liked the TS-590.
I also really like the K3. I have used one the last couple...
Congrats on the TR-9000. Nice radios.
I have a TS-700sp, a KLM 2m 16lbx. There is some activity in my area as well. I hope to get my antenna up some time this spring. Then maybe make some club contacts.

Well it just depends if you have D-Star repeaters in your area. I don't have any D-star repeaters near me at all. So shelling out the $$$ for would be pointless here. Do you have any d-star repeaters where u are at? And HF on a HT is not that great either.
I knew a guy that had a Great big...
I called on the club freq around 11 to 11:20 am cst. I didn't hear anything. I will try again later. if anyone will be around at certain time I will try to show up if you post the time
