My actual question is near rhe bottom of this post
I have a ham iv that is mast mounted... using the mast adapter...
The specs on the rotor with no support is 7.5 square feet windload and not more than 3.5 feet above the rotor
I have in the past mounted up to 9 feet above a ham iv... at that...
I have a ham iv like is not braking.. I have seen that the solenoid works fine.
I think its a bad brake wedge
The one in my rotor is shaped like a knife
It just started doing this today no warning no unusual things happening basically all other modes work lower side band works just fine as soon as you key down on upper side band it throws out the quick blip and then it says busy and the display flickers and it just kind of goes on and off and on...
Is the guy any good? Either way it looks like we're saying filter caps have been replaced and a hi fi audio mod does this HiFi audio mod affect a.m., FM, Sideband,???
Also the driven element is split and insulated from the boom... While the reflector and director are bonded to the boom... The boom is around 14.5 feet long
I am thinking about mounting a mobile 102 whip above a Wilson sy-33, 3 element tribsnd (10m, 15m , 20m)
The Yagi is horizontal.
The whip would be mounted vertically on a trucker cb mirror mount the clamped to the Yagi's boom... Or a may clamp it to the aluminum mast that the Yagi is mounted on...
I have tried different pieces of coax I've tried to friend tennis I have tried a dummy load it still reads incorrectly even the dummy load is showing really odd numbers although not quite as severe
ok...so for some reason my MFJ 259b analyzer is giving weird readings...
I have tried different coax... it's telling me my beam is 3.5:1 swr or worse on all bands, the SWR dip is where it should be. but there is high reactance and a impedance mismatch
I have similar results on all...
