Not sure what mic problem you are talking about. The PTT switch seems to be the weak spot on the HM-133 mic. I have had one fail but the repair was easy. Bought a new better switch and replaced it.
I have the 880H and its a pretty nice little radio. I am sure you have watched the youtube videos already on this radio. It is a little harder to manually program than the 2820. I have both radios and I like them both. If your getting the RT Systems software you will not have any problems...
Check out repeaterbook, This might be what your looking for. Real nice resource if local hams keep the info upadted.

I have to agree! Yaesu really dropped the ball on the belt clip. I have the VX-8G and I cant see the belt clip lasting very long. I wonder what they were thinking.
I wish I could find a good hard leather case with a swivel belt clip.
I have an IC 2820 in my truck and I'm not sure if thats a feature that I would ever use in a mobile application. If anyone has any good mobile applications for it I would love to hear them. I can see it being a decent feature as a base unit. I mainly bought the 2820 for the crossband feature.
I would buy a dual band radio if I was you. I bought a 2M radio and realized I should have bought a dual band.
The icom IC-208 is a decent price and its a dual band radio.
I have 2 of them and they are nice little units.
