I found these at Harbor freight for dirt cheap. They always have coupons for them. They are the perfect storage solution for antenna analyzers or radios. Enjoy!
Has anybody found a schematic or service manual for this radio? I thought it would be amusing to see what sort of improvements could be made to this thing.
RF Parts is blowing them out the door.
Matched sets of eight @ $439.00.
They don't have many left. Get them before they're gone.

It would appear he thinks the service manual means absolutely nothing when calibrating an S meter to S9.
It would appear that by ignoring the manufacturer's specifications, and calibrating S9 for half the voltage, it perfectly explains why this meter is so jumpy...
Has anybody tested these things under open/short conditions?
I'm kinda curious how much abuse they can handle. RF Parts sells them in beta-matched sets as well.
I thought you guys would like to hear this since although this radio has been out 3 years already, nobody else seems capable of making it happen without having to resort to Rack gear and equalizers and such.
I was thinking about having these heatsinks machined off and Polished flat so I could attach a genuine heatsink With more Surface area capable of dissipating more Heat.
The Machinist that did all my work passed away back in March so I'm looking for a new Machinist.
Has anybody ever seen one or tried one?
It appears to be extraordinarily expensive and pictures of it seem to be fairly elusive.
Here's a guy that has one on his truck but I don't speak Italian so I don't really know much about this antenna other than it looks very well made.
There seems to be a difference of opinion on this subject. I was passing through a town in my work truck and I recorded the sounds coming out of the speaker of my company issued Cobra 29 in my work truck and posted that recording on YouTube and the person who was speaking at the time contacted...
Pin 6 is dc voltage but unused. No capacitor in mic. How does this thing work? Excuse my ignorance, but dynamic mics have always been my thing. Electrets are new to me.
I tried to do a Google search for my testimonial regarding the terrible service I got at Walcott CB shop back in 2004 and I was unable to locate anything via Google so I figured I would repost my experience here to hopefully save some people from wasting lots of money for an inferior service...
Instead of building amplifiers that fit inside cheaply constructed aluminum enclosures with heat dissipation being a secondary thought has anybody ever contemplated designing an amplifier around an enclosure with consistent heat dissipation for each individual transistor to maintain a uniform...
This guy thinks he knows how to build amplifiers...
Seems ok so far? It gets better..
Clean signal into amp...
Nasty carrier? WTF!!!!
Nasty splatter..
This has been a public service announcement...
Do you cut your coax?

A benchmark standard approach to installing coaxial cable for mobiles will improve RF power measurements and improve reception quality in fleet vehicles.
Do you cut your coax cable for your mobile two-way radio...
