As you may or may not know, 27 cb frequencies was originally a ham band. They used USB as per their band plan.
When i became a cb operator some 40 odd yrs ago a Ham guy told me cb'ers used LSB in defiance of the ham radio people.
Hi I am looking for a Courier Gladiator PLL Front panel or whole junk radio (for parts)
Also could someone help with the frequency alignment.
Thank you
Hi All... I have a Washington that has full power and modulation on AM.
PA has full audio.
SSB is a no go no output at all. I assume its an Audio problem. But cant seem to narrow it down.
Also rx sensitivity is down.
Any thought as to what I am not seeing.
Thank you all in advance.
I`ve got to agree with Sunbulls ... Either the Super Mod base Mic or a Leson TW-232 base mic will really boost your audio.. Given the age of the radio a re-cap could help aswell.. Great radio though I am a big fan of Pearce-Simpson anything.
Hi All.
Looking for parts list for a Tram (Diamond) XL5 (xtal version)
Old girl is in need of a recap and tune.
If you have a manual you wouldn't mind selling or sharing I would be extremely thankful .
Thank you.
Hi all I have a old ic-2310 sadly she is stock and only covers 144-146mhz
I believe there is a mod to open her up a bit...
Can any one help ? English owners manual would be nice aswell
Thanks in advance Ken vk2utc
Yes the AM only sets would be different.. I have the Cheetah SSB 2 with the D858. I am not sure as to whether the output stages are the same as the GRANT etc.
Just thinking there are maybe hundreds of these older classics out there with the earlier UNIDEN SSB chassis and was just wondering if...
A very interesting thread.. A big thankyou to 13 and all that have contributed.
But I am curious. This mod is proven for the second generation D858 PLL, But what about older units with the pll in the tin boxes ?. Like P/S SIMBA 2 & CHEETAH 2, or the Courier CENTURION and MIDLAND ?
Ah yes this brings back memories ... Back in the day we bought a cheap kids Walkie Talkie for abt $5.00 it was 500 milliwatt and fixed at 27.145 with a morse code osc.
We would remove the telescopic ant and replace it with wire. The xtal was replace with 27.085 which was our AM call channel...
I found this on my local ebay... I cant afford it but thought someone here might give her a new home.
Its not mine I am not selling it nor do I know the seller...

If you need help with shipping I would be happy to help out a fellow WWDX member
Good luck
What an awesome radio at the time... Maybe even now.. These were also sold down here in Australia.. I could be wrong but I think they were sold (at the time) as 18 channel units (our dumb ass legal bandplan) But I am sure the one I saw powered up on the self was 40 channel... They were very...
I have stumbled across a STABO XM 4012 AM/FM CB radio.
Nice plain basic Euro type radio.. She just needs a bit of tune to perk her up.
She has the PLL03A (GRRRRRR) ROM chip and the PTBM165A0X pcb.
Most of the info I have found is in German and Google translate is doing my head in.
Any one with...
Below Zero
Here in Australia channel zero was popular with AMers to get away from the big guys with ssb.. Zero was 26.955. But 27Meg is nearly dead down here now. Don't forget New Zealand still has 26mhz CB..
Trusted Friends
I fell in love with the Tram XL5 Sadly I sold her many years ago...Wish I could find another one.
Also the Courier Gladiator PLL also I sold years ago
My Pearce Simpson Cheetah SSB2 I still have her.. Unmolested !
