Can someone explain why nobody uses upper sideband?

As you may or may not know, 27 cb frequencies was originally a ham band. They used USB as per their band plan. When i became a cb operator some 40 odd yrs ago a Ham guy told me cb'ers used LSB in defiance of the ham radio people.

Cybernet just like Uniden made a chassis and sold it to anyone who would pay the asking price. And yes those boards could have extra or less options.

    Pearce Simpson Bengal

I`ve got to agree with Sunbulls ... Either the Super Mod base Mic or a Leson TW-232 base mic will really boost your audio.. Given the age of the radio a re-cap could help aswell.. Great radio though I am a big fan of Pearce-Simpson anything.

A very interesting thread.. A big thankyou to 13 and all that have contributed. But I am curious. This mod is proven for the second generation D858 PLL, But what about older units with the pll in the tin boxes ?. Like P/S SIMBA 2 & CHEETAH 2, or the Courier CENTURION and MIDLAND ?
