At least you have proof that you have Fire in the wire & your Blowin Smoke. If the rely is sticking the contacts could be dirty, but with all the smoke coming off that thing I wouldn't run it your degrading the components. Find a "Good Radio Tech" not some TS golden screwdriver, to...
I see the problem. It's yor pogo stick it is not a ground, the center post is insulated. Bolt a bird perch to the bottom of the headache rack or the side or the chain box & slide a tennis ball on the antenna so it don't bang against it.
I don't know a thing about these amps but I know a thing or two about true craftsmanship, pride and ownership of your work. After reviewing the flicker page I can tell that the shop is hospital clean and tidy like my grannies house. This attention to detail will definitely been carried on in the...
I build my Baluns like those out of 1/1/2" pvc. If you took turns around the eye bolts then attached the bitter end to the lugs on the balun the dipole is essentially the length of the distance from the lug to the first turn on the eye bolt this would explain the high SWR. You must run a pig...
The antenna feed point is the point where the Coax connects to the antenna in this case that would be where the Pl 259 screws into the snug little hole on the SO 239 at the bottom. The RF choke should be as close to the feed point as possible adn it don't hurt to slap a couple of Ferrite’s on...
Bannock, Oatmeal, Dried fruits, Nuts, Seeds, Rice, Vienna Sausages, Beef jerky, Beanie Weenies, Dry soup mixes & what ever I can Kill or Catch. I don't call sleeping in an RV camping.
For a 5/8 wave NGP antenna less that 2:1 across that spectrum I'd call it good the difference between 2:1 and 1:1 is about 1 s unit. So long as the finals in the radio can handle a 2:1 load I'd leave it alone it would work just fine on my privileges.
