I have a 4 element yagi horizontal good for 6m, 10m, and 12m.....
Also have an 80m OCF good for 7 bands.....of course with a tuner......
And also have a tilt plate at the top so the horizontal will stay in horizontal position all the way to the ground .......
I do apologize........
I decided to hold on to this amplifier for awhile .......
It is rugged.
It is clean and new looking.
Can't buy this amplifier new anymore........
Thanks.....
The winch is hard mounted (4 bolt winch base) to the 6 1/2" I-beam.
It is a Warn, 120V AC, 4,000 lb. for straight pull .......
The I-beam is 5' deep into the concrete base.......
The concrete base is 6 1/2 feet deep.....
The tower legs are 6 feet long.......
Ameritron AL-1500 Amplifier - Manufactured in April 2013
Pristine Condition, looks brand new, no smoking environment......
Original Eimac 3CX1500A7 8877 tube has very strong power, all bands......
Has CTR Engineering (W8JI) upgraded capacitor filter board ........
Plus, NEW spare Eimac 3CX1500A7...
I have a 45' free standing tower...... I knew I wasn't getting any younger or stronger, so I planned all that into the build-out when the tower went up.
We now have a setup where I pull the base pins and the wife connects the ac power to the winch installed on a fulcrum point for that purpose...
The wicking effect will always be there, even with a drip loop anywhere in the coax........
With additional water/moisture entering the coax at the antenna feed point, the water will make it's way all the way around the drip loop eventually.
A drip loop will not stop the water........
Real...
If water gets into the coax at the antenna, nothing will stop the intrusion all the way thru eventually........
The shield braid will act as a wick.......
And corrosion will be the result...... I have seen that happen numerous times.....
A drip loop will not stop the wicking effect......
Don't know whether to be glad or sad.
I am selling my 11 year old Ameritron AL-1500 amplifier. It does have the original Eimac 3CX1500A7, 8877 tube. The tube is still very strong on every band. Full legal output plus, with 35-ish watts input.
Boy, this is one nice rugged amplifier. Never has had...
Yeah, they generally will, and you most likely will need to send it in for repair/service........
I say this from experience, not mine, but my neighbor has had a Hopper built sent in twice already. The second time it was stolen by a contractor Postal employee and never recovered..... He has also...
I do have some Texas Star amplifiers in my stock......
All mine have the original Toshiba 2SC2879 transistors........
Newer models that I changed them from DEI's to original Toshiba's.......
Upgraded power wires.......
350's and 500's .......
But not cheap...... the Toshiba's do cost
I have a couple that are in like new condition...... used very little.......
I removed DEI transistors and installed brand new Original Toshiba 2SC2879 transistors.......
I purchased the Texas Star DX 350 amplifiers brand new about 6~7 years ago.....
$650 plus buyer pays shipping costs ........
