Picked up a general Lee.

So I just picked up a used general Lee. Haven't got too deep into set up yet but so far having issue with transmitting. ( I am using a el cheapo mic of a uniden 66) When I tried to key up it goes quiet, even on pa it does nothing. Swr peaked on key. Other question is can anyone explain this...
