OK..I know it isnt a radio,but still brings out a huge grin just like a new radio does ....and it can reach out and touch something ..and is alot of bang for the buck :tongue:
A while back I ran across this site listing the ISS frequencies,some of them are in the stateside VHF/UHF ham radio bands.
I am sure with a bit of luck and a decent radio and antenna set up a contact with the ISS is very possable

My Icom 736 stopped receiving a few of weeks ago and I have not had a chance to dig into it till today and try to figure out what happened
Well I had the chance to do so today.I turned on the radio and the thing was working,receiving signals and all !! I changed bands and POOF!! the 10k ohm...
hearing all over the states and into Europe,heard Iceland,Russia and a few more countries...and have a contact to Belarus EU-7-A ...5/6 both ways.....get em while the getting is good
add EU-1-A to that as well

I am off work today due to weather and decided to turn on the radio...at 7:30 AM local time I was scanning across 20 meters and was surprised to hear the general portion of the band silent ...... that dont happen everyday.....
I am hearing good strong signals on all of the bands from all over Europe .... and I actually have some time to play radio !! :D

he was at 38000 feet with an air speed of 570 mph
picked him up at St Louis and he dropped out over SE Oklahoma

3978 on the 30 minute mark every hour

Starting to get nasty here,started well before daylight with about 1/16 inch of freezing rain and changed...
hearing a few stations on 10 meters,really weak but they are in there....hopefully that band will start seeing decent conditions ...low end of band...28.3 to 28.7

Man it is crazy from 40 meters to 12 meters......Hearing everything from west coast to Russia...Europe is around 17 to 12 meters...to me band sounds quiet as you are scanning around...they are in there...Hit Italy confermed IK-7-SNR.... **Jump_im**
