Baofeng UV-5R: what method do you use to keep the volume knob on max while wearing it on a belt ?
I have been noticing that the volume knob wants to continuously creep down lower and lower and I have to keep checking it and turning the volume back up.
What do you recommend for an audio cable going from uv-5R to an audio 1/4" TRS amplifier/speaker jack?
(I have an adapter to get from 1/4 TRS to 1/4 TS).
I already tried running a standard 2.5mm TRS from the uv-5R to the audio-amplifier. I also already tried

I have an alert signal (motion-alert from dakotaalert.com, with about a 5second-long
alert message) automatically going into a Baofeng uv-R5 (call this radio #1). I have a maze of very tall obstacles that I must communicate...
Where can I get radios that will TX (and receive) at any frequency. For example, 162, 172, 182, 192, 202 mhz?
So, I am basically looking for the analogous of a Baofeng uv-5R but that will TX at a set of five frequencies in
about 10mhz intervals.
I know people have them, but I don't know...
Can a motion alert be made to run on HAM frequencies?
For example, the DakotaAlert (dakotaalert.com) runs on MURS
frequencies; is there a HAM version of this ?
Can anyone think of why sticking the below amplifier between the below transmitter and its antenna would
not work ?
