I'd like to see the FCC update their regs. Not limited to but including a higher legal operating wattage, additional channels (10+?) and the use of FM legalized, like in the UK.

I've got a Galaxy 98vhp for sale. Comes with everything except the mounting screws. Nothing wrong with this rig. Has some scratches on the bottom and sides from mounting. Channel conversion and peak & tune. A shade more than 200w. I'm in New Hampshire and accept PayPal only. $375 shipped.
WIRES did not catch in here in the states like Yaesu had hoped. In Japan I think it's used quite often. To my knowledge, there's only a handful of WIRES equipped repeaters in the nation.

I've used a few Nagoya antennas for VHF and UHF. I don't recall the exact models, but one was a telescoping model and it worked great. Slightly better gain over stock. I also had a high gain VHF/UHF model, it worked way better than the stock model.

It's hard to imagine that his brakes failed due to overuse or fade from normal interstate driving. Since he was coming down an exit ramp, I have to assume he was just driving on the interstate as usual. I'm chalking this one up to driver error. However, he did a helluva job not killing...
