    VX-8R Packet use

    Has anybody done much with packet on the VX-8R? We have a digital repeater here on 145.01 and have been thinking about trying it out. If anybody has used it on this radio, what kind of software have you used? Thanks Shaun AE5SO

    It basically sucks. I guess it is good for an antenna that can get thrashed around and you don't have to worry or for short range stuff. I bought a $25 mag mount antenna for my truck and without even putting it outside the truck, just setting on the seat, repeaters that were coming in at a 5-6...
