Hairball, below is a You Tube video, I made back in the days, that compares my Old Avanti A/P with a full length 1/4 Wave radiator and my Sirio New Top One (A/P) with a gamma match to tune.
I tested as best I was able, using the receive meter readings for both antennas, using an Avanit switch...
Yes SuperLid, I received both emails and I thank you.
When I get to working on this new model, I might have a
question or two.
I'm currently using your info to remodel an old V58 done in 2017
Thanks, again.
Thanks anyway SuperLid.
How about email?
I agree that Master Chief's, 2/26/20<> report did not work for me either.
I've never owned or seen a V58 up close, and the Base Section in the instructions shows ZERO dimensions in the details.
That said, I was just guessing at the whole Base Section...
SuperLid, your posts are always informative, and I enjoy your responses.
Could you help me and tell me the overall length and diameter of the whole Base Assembly including the top tube and the base?
I want to try and modify my Eznec model with better specs. I would like your measurements...
I have a copy of a post that Master Chief made around 2/20/2006, on the Maco V58 tubing used, but I can't find the post on WWDX using "Search", so I could just post the whole link of his comments.
So, I will try to scan the old-post from around 2/20/2006.
(Note) No luck finding the post...
I think I see a gross error in the Manual.

Notice the image above on the right...shows the insulated support clamp...
I have a New A99 too, and it is 11" short compared to my Older models. I think that Solarcon has optimized the A99 too. I also get about 1.50:1 on my new one right out of the box without any tuning. I can tune the antenna to 1.00:1 on setting the rings to the bottom...and that is close to CB...
