Being a driver I can honestly say CB isn't what it used to be as like whiskey said with cell phones,GPS,etc.....most truckers leave them off unless they come up on a traffic jam or when near scale house's.Mine is on as long as I'm in the truck but not many do the same.
I'm trying to replace a meter lamp in a cobra29 with another wheat lamp how do I match up the leads? The wires are both Red.I purchased a new meter w/bulb.
Not into ssb at this time(maybe at some point).Just looking for a good talking/reciever for everyday use.Was told the 148 would be a little down on peak power compared to the uniden. Also told the uniden would out-talk the cobra but the cobra would have better ears.
With all things being equal what would be a better choice for mobil application barefoot?Cobra is a malaysia made and uniden is philly.I know the 148 has ssb but will it talk/hear as well as the uniden for AM?
I have bought a handfull off stuff from him and get nothing but flowers on all off them.He has answered the phone on a sunday to answer my questions and does good work period! No weed-wacker jobs like some of the BIG super shops!
I changed out my meter light with a 12v LED and now only my channel light dim's my meter light and face stays the same?Any thoughts? The led was the only thing changed.
My connex is 2w on low power 6w on hi.Anyways I always run in the hi position(barefoot) seems sometimes like when it is cold or such the radio meter reads at about half then swings forward other times it starts at about 9 then swings forward. Is it because the mosfets are warming up causing my DK...
Can someone give me a balpark setting for echo(for those of you who run echo) on a connex 3300hp.The talkback isn't in the same class as a stryker/magnum and I want a LITTLE echo to enhance the audio. Not the I'm trapped in a tin can sound or any repeat.Thx.
Have a new assigned work truck with factory co-phase setup and a broken antenna on p/s(treelimb got the best of it).The coax looks like each leg if you will can be unscrewd seperately behind the main plug that goes in the back of radio. Can I just unscrew the coax that is going to the right side...
How do these radio"s compare?Performance,reliabilty,etc..I don't see much about the 919 and a wholelot about 29's.Which would you choose all things being equal?
Thanks jeff that would be the wilson in my experience dont you agree.Interesting you mentioned injector someone said they are on the same frequency and It does matter if I change channels.Unfortunately I spend 99% on 19 but if I go up or down the noise either goes up or down too!
I can get god swr's with my wilson(1.3 flat across) and francis (1.3-1.7).Are u talking a noise filter?I unhooked my antenna while hearing the noise and it went away was told if it was entering through radio noise would still exist?Just seems a shame I cant run my wilson trucker Ive had better...
