Neat, but the FCC classifies them as intentional jamming devices!

Can you ID all the HAM crap in this commercial?

Hammarlund receiver on the far left... Bottom right looks like a Heathkit DX-20/40 almost. Top right, Gonset Communicator for VHF or UHF

    Ted Nugent, Fake?

    He's fake because he's supporting anti-gun, non-conservative Romney.

Convert 10m ham for LEGAL CB power level use?

Bang for the buck, I'd just cash out for an FT857D or FT100D. My unofficial advice, with the amount of exports on the road today, nobody is going to kill you if you key up an 857D on Ch19. Turn the power down, don't be an asshat, and nobody will be able to tell the difference.

Not to start an arguement just some thin s Ive learned over time.

I'd rather have a 1/4 wave vertical at 10,000 ft than a 10 element yagi at 10 ft.

new to cb, have a few issues

Hustler ball on top of some 1/4" plate, mounted off a rollbar or bumper is probably the most ideal mount.

new to cb, have a few issues

This. 102" whip can withstand a lot of abuse, since it's one continuous piece of metal with no coils to break or anything. It'll be as strong as your mount is.

    Your HF experiences?

Fistbump. I do the same thing! The sweet DX stations are usually CW...Antarctica, Siberia, Arctic Islands, etc.

    Your HF experiences?

There's a lot of good nets out there. There's a maritime mobile net on 40m that may interest you? Sometimes aeronautical mobiles pop in for a bit too.

    HF Starter Setup

Kenwood TS520 Yaesu FT101 Both can be had for about $250. Both offer 160, 80, 40, 20, 15, and 10 bands. Both are tube-hybrids, meaning, they're very forgiving to a bad SWR. Both are fairly bulletproof. Both are ~100w output. Antenna, an 80m dipole cut for 3.8 mhz. Feed it with 600 ohm ladder...

    Brand New Sweep Tube Amp

It's false economy to save $100 on a power supply, then eat that up in tube costs later.

    Brand New Sweep Tube Amp

I'd push for a fairly conservative number out of 811As. I hear they don't do so "hot" when pushed to the max with AM service. Plus they're only rated for 30 mhz I believe? They are dirt cheap though!
