It appears to be extraordinarily expensive and pictures of it seem to be fairly elusive.
Here's a guy that has one on his truck but I don't speak Italian so I don't really know much about this antenna other than it looks very well made.

Avanti has been out of business for years, unless someone bought the name and is making something using that name i am not sure. Avanti was a Chicago company made not far from me.
It looks like they still sell them over in Italy for approximately $250.

Is it anything more than a base loaded mobile antenna?
From the picture it looks like it's Precision machined out of stainless steel and from the description I was reading in an Italian radio Forum it's completely waterproof and has a neoprene o-ring at the base to make it completely waterproof which is a critical thing in the Northeast United States especially in the winter time with salt water spraying on our vehicles. It's also six and a half feet long requiring much less coil losses which is a good thing for efficiency, and with my vehicle at seven feet tall adding a six and a half foot antenna would put me right at 13 foot 6 inches. It sounds like it would be the perfect antenna for my vehicle.
