I search the internet and found quite a few replies on forums about increasing the dismal Cobra Cam 88 modulation as set by the factory. But, no one stated how to perform the mod- go figure. The mod is simple. Cut the resistor out of circuit at the Dyna Boost switch. All done. The factory stock radio was 3.5 watts swinging to 5.5 watts. That does not even tickle an amp. Now it is 3.5 watts swinging to 10 watts with Dyna Boost switch in the off position. Not stellar, but swings enough to make an amp bark. The receiver is quite good in these radios too. As good as my new Kenwood TS-590SG with preamp on for sensitivity.

Might want to touch up the Tune and Load adjustments. Now that you have boosted the modulated power, you may find that the Load control adjustment for max modulated power has changed since it was set with the limiter hooked up.
