Galaxy 48t ?

thumbs up

the 48t is a good radio....as long as it is tuned and aligned properly. our biggest problem is unqualified techs getting in these radios and screwing them up. in fact one of my techs is working on one right now that was shipped in with less than desireable operation. from what he can tell, the problems were coming from faulty modifications to the tx power control and an external freq counter that was not installed correctly.

he isn't finished yet, but has the tx section working fine again yielding 190-195w pep on a bird 43 meter. power supply input is 14.1v.

also keep your carrier around 40w or so. i would not go any higher than 50w.

It looks like the 48T I purchased got the golden screwdriver treatment from the previous owner, or more accurately, the radio tech chosen by the previous owner, but I'm not going to complain too much because I got it dirt cheap. I sent it back to the galaxy mothership for some professional attention.
