Reflector wire

Hey all, I need to know if one can use unsulated wire for the reflector wire on a beam. The reason I am asking, I have a bunch of 12ga solid copper insulated wire. If I strip a 2 or 3 inch piece of wire where it will be connected to the reflector elements and leave the insulating on the rest, would this be OK? Wire is not that expensive, so if bare wire is the way to go - I need to know.

Thanks, Hossless

Hossless,

It really won't make any difference that you will ever

be able to tell, receiving or transmitting. So, what-

ever's easiest for you, or whatever 'grabs' ya...

Hey Spike...I've talked to you on your Quad....it sure makes the trip! I think that old timer was pulling your leg about the wire seasoning, though.

Doc, Spike, appreciate the comebacks. It's a pain to strip all that wire, that's why I asked. Like you said Doc, it probably wouldn't hurt the performance to leave it insulated though. But after I have a screwdriver or two sittin' there listening to all the locals ratchet jawing - I may just go ahead and strip it anyway. Spike, you must have had to twist that multistrand real tight??
