What did turner do to the reliable and great sounding original RK 56..the new mics have dropped the telex name on them and when they did that, they dropped the ball..totally different sounding mics..there horrible sounding..has anyone tried to rework the new mic and if you have did you have any luck with sound improvement... thanks
SHAME ON YOU TURNER FOR TRYING TO GO CHEAP...now you got a cheap sounding mic..

Turner sold the rights to the Mic and the name to Barjan company, who then sold out to DAS Inc.

Turner hasn't existed in the microphone business since Conrac bought them in the 1970's. Telex sold the Turner name to DAS back in 2011 or so, at which point production started in China about Feb 2012.

Same problem here. Had to return mine, sounded terrible.
Try a Ranger SRA198 non amplified n/c mic. Less than 40 dollars, well made, sounds good.
