We now have our own XReflector to help link up club member repeaters and DVAPs

For the uninitiated, XReflector is an open source (non-Icom) reflector system that uses a protocol called DExtra and it relies on the IRCDDB callsign routing system. If you are running your own repeater and have the IRCDDB Gateway running, simply add XRFWDX to your dextra_hosts.txt file with IP address 173.60.73.189. If you live in an area with a D-Star repeater that is already running IRCDDB Gateway, just ask the sysop to add the entry. Future updates to IRCDDBGateway software will include the reflector automatically.

If you live in an area with Icom D-Star repeaters that are not running IRCDDBGateway, have a conversation with your club/sysop and ask them to add it. It opens up a whole world of open D-Star systems that you don't otherwise have access to.

BTW, our XRFWDX XReflector is running on a Raspberry Pi.

It works AWESOME ! I stay connected most of the time and I just picked up a DVAP so I will have access at work as well !

I had to get the fancy lexan case for it as well..

Craig, that was ME (PMG) tonight on the reflector. Sorry we couldn't finish the QSO. As I was trying to explain through my R2, I'm less than 10 miles from Mole's antenna, however we have a nasty little hill/mountain right in between us. I was bouncing a 100w signal through a 13 element beam at another mountain trying to get "round the corner" to Mole's machine.

So this is cool... The reflector is set up at my place, the WWDX "club" machine is now accessible to everyone... but me! Either I'm going to have to get a Dongle, or have my wife take Mole's wife to the casino or something so we can get a bigger antenna on his house while she's not looking! Unfortunately, I do believe she has a mental snapshot of his little "antenna farm", so he'd still have some 'splainin to do sooner or later. lol

Is the reflector down ? I havent been able to connect in a few days. Just wondering if the IP may have changed ??

I just noticed it yesterday, too. It looks like the IP address changed. We'll get it fixed shortly.

The new IP address is 173.55.161.142. We're going to get a DNS entry for this so that when the IP address changes, it won't affect us. In the meantime, feel free to update your dextra_hosts.txt file.

Just updated but unable to link, you may need to check the port forwarding. Not sure how you have it setup.

I am using No-Ip to take care of my IP address http://kc1aci.no-ip.org works pretty well and I have my repeater status available on a web server at that link.
