Receiver Alignment

Test Equipment
1.��� RE Signal Generator
2.��� V.T.V.M.
3.��� 8 ohm dummy load (10 watts)
4.��� Distortion Meter
5.��� Power Supply
6.��� Oscilloscope

Alignment Procedure
1.��� Connect Pin 4 of Mic jack to ground.
2.��� Connect RF signal generator output terminal to antenna jack, set modulation 1KHz at 30%.
3.��� Connect power cord to power supply.
4.��� Connect dummy load to EXT speaker jack.
5.��� Connect V.T.V.M., oscilloscope and distortion meter to dummy load.
6.��� Set signal generator and radio to Ch19.
7.��� Turn squelch frilly counterclockwise and the volume fully clockwise.
8.��� Signal input must be kept as low as possible, to avoid overloading and clipping.
9.��� Adjust T101, T102, T213, T103, T104, & T105 for max. on V.T.V.M..
10.�� Reduce output from signal generator so that audio output remains about 500mV-2V.
11.�� Repeat steps 9 & 10 to obtain max. output.
12.�� Set output of signal generator to 1uV.
13.�� Check that V.T.V.M. indication is above 4V and S+N/N is below 10dB.
14.�� Check that audio output is over 4V on channels.
15.�� Turn squelch volume fully clockwise, and adjust RV3 so that audio output appears.
16.�� Adjust VR1 so that meter indicator is set at S-9 position.
