I saw your post about the old cobra 29A. I'll agree there is not much to these units, but, if you clip D24, you'll have a lot more punch from this unit. D24 is located right directly behind the ext speaker jack and back towards to the front of the radio about 1 -1/2" from the ext speaker jack. Look for it behind the biggest blue capacitor right beside the main power transformer. These radios do not have much in the way of RX gain, but, they are loud radios for what they are.
