Moved the regulator inside, now it blows the 1nf cap on the signal ground. Think its gonna get a 9v battery and a switch. Tired of fooling with it.

Got the disc cap on the ground side of the signal, still squeals though. I have the display in an external box. Would a diode do me any good on the power side? Checked all the electrolytics, the issue started before the recap.
