I say put the $50 in the bank and then add another $50 and purchase Max2000. Had a Patriot and replaced it with the Imax and the difference was astounding.
Well, what an interesting read. I just wrote my exam here in Canada and with a little help from a class I took, offered by my local ham radio club, I am happy to report that I passed with enough marks to allow me to use all bands.

Well, Got pokin around and this amp has 2 1446 Transistors. Don't know a lot about electronics, but the workmanship looks clean and tidy. hoping for good things!

don't know what size the amp is, so therefore not sure of the power supply needed.
The amp dosent have a switch for am/ssb. just POWER on/off and RX AMP on/off. It does however have a dial on the back side labeled SSB DELAY. Does it auto detect ssb?
