@BC Coyote
I know how you feel. RedEye Crow is about four miles from me, and he splatters all 40 and then some when he is on the bowl. That Tennessee Walker amp is a band killer.
Is that how the guy in Qatar spells his name? I got piled on by a bunch of Middle East stations before we finished our QSO. He was still the loudest with the best signal.
I did ask him how he pronounced Qatar because on the news some say Kutter, and others say Ktar. He said Ktar was how it...
Yes I had it up, but it was pointed northeast, so you were coming in on the side of my beam. Your signal was still booming in though! Still using a strong arm rotor. My right arm is going to look like Popeye the sailor man...lol.
Middle East coming in for me yesterday and today.
Just now talked to a Kilo Papa member in Doha, Qatar division 115. He, Saaf?, was 5/9 to 20+ coming in here to western NC. The four element Sirio beam I just put up is pulling them in!
Have seen this same thing before especially with the Anytone designed radios. I had the very same problem with the same Lincoln 2+, Anytone Quad 6, and an Anytone 5555 N2. Plug in my Cobra 142 GTL or Cobra 29, and every thing was fine.
Half wave jumper from the radio to the amp fixed the...
I had one of the new ones, and I set the radials at 105 inch per instructions. Using an analyzer at 10 feet above ground, the best I could get was 5.8 SWR.
The radials on mine where they clamp together with screw clamps were super loose. Tried double clamping with no change. DX Engineering...
Only type of filter that has worked for me to tame alternator noise is the CB60 by Cornell Dubilier. Still new old stock around.

I bought one, and I think the best I could get was 5.9 on 11 meters. And it was tested 10 feet above ground with an analyzer. Pretty sure the cause on mine was the radials were very loose, and there was no way to tighten them any further.
DX Engineering returned all my money, and paid for the...
@unit_399
I heard you this past Monday evening here in NC. You were talking to 850 in Pensacola, Florida. You were S7 on my receiver.
I heard you say you were on a four element, and on a barefoot Cobra radio. Tried to call you, but I never heard you again that evening.
I bought a DX Engineering coax stripper for .405 coaxial cables. Then bought a used RFC Industry crimp tool from Ebay for $20 shipped.
The coax strip tool works great. I have used the strip tool on LMR-400 and 8U with good success.

Then that radio has been modified.
Properly tuned with a 75 watt carrier with amp on, that radio should swing true PEP around 30 watts or so into the amp. I know I had the same radio that was properly tuned.
Lafayette SWR and Field Strength meter is what I would have bought. You can still find them on Ebay new in the box. They were sold under different names, but I can't remember which names.
The one I bought, new in the box, is spot on measuring SWR with two different antenna analyzers, MFJ-259...
On the other hand, I have experienced just changing radios will make the amp happy with the same length jumpers.
For what ever reason, I have had more trouble with high powered radios causing problems. Hook up my Cobra 142 GTL, and problem goes away using the same length jumpers. And on high...
Western Electric is back in business making tubes. Supposedly, some time this Summer they are supposed to be making popular in demand tubes right here in the USA. Story linked down below. And they have a website too.

Use a pair of small cutters to cut them out, or you can de-solder. Picture below is from post #2.

Yesterday evening the NE corner plus parts of the mid west were in my receiver all night right up until midnight when I turned the radio off. I am in western NC.
