Oh Brother.... With all the imperfections in the world, 3 times RMS will do me fine... In 100 years it won't matter anyway... I'll be gone and there will be somebody else trying too figure out the magnitude of his laser gun with a Starduster Magnitude Meter or some such crap.... It all boils...

The Do's,Dont's,and Whys of correct tube handling

Once you tune it you don't need to play with it... I got a nice long jumper and moved it down to the bottom of my radio table... And my chair sits off to the side... No problem at all with a power mic... You can try a good Astatic noise cancelling mic if people are complaining of the wind...

To be quite honest.. If I had to do it all again I would go with an Ameritron... The KLV 1000 was quite a learning process and very aggravating at first... It does sound good though and with a lot of experimenting reading and studying we got it figured out.

The best way to tune the amp is: Make sure your SWR is as close to perfect as possible. Set the DeadKey on the radio to no more than 2 watts on AM and run no more than 15 Watts PEP on SSB.... Tune everything for maximum wattage on your meter on your linear... Adjusting the...

I took the Deadkey to 2 Watts today and the amp is Swinging to about 800 Watts RMS and PEP'ing 1400 Watts on SSB ... A few days of this and than I will put the tube theory to rest for sure... This KLV is performing flawlessly! :D
