So, I have been informed, that Radioddity, has silently replaced the QT-60, with the Pro. If you order a QT-60 today (from Radioddity, not Amazon), you will receive a Pro model.
Oh, and the price was dropped today to $240.
I'm not faulting the guy, but he did not address the complaint. When the OP posted here, he stated that he noticed excessive current draw on voice peaks. The tech's assessment is not covering that issue at all.
I don't understand, what frequency instability has to do with excessive current draw on voice peaks. Something is drawing current, pulling down the B+ which may be causing the instability. That's my first guess without having the radio in front of me.
If you order from Radioddity direct, they have a QT-40 bundle, that includes a 3" UHF mag mount and a beginners guide/e-book. Same price as Scamazon $160. If there were radios like this for this money when I was a kid, I would have been in heaven...
There are two things to note here. 45 Watts, may be the POWER CONSUMPTION, not RF POWER INPUT. RF power input, is 25 watts. The final input vs output, is relative to the efficiency of the PA section. You should be seeing 12 Watts PEP output, maybe a bit better on the right power meter.

It has lineage from AT-6666 Pro's feature set. When you thought that the release of the Q6 Pro was exciting enough, here comes this one...
