    Reclaim LSB 16

I've tried a few times over the last 10 days or so. There has definitely been some activity on LSB 38, but I haven't heard anything on LSB 16. But that's O.K. We'll see how our post-Thanksgiving LSB 16 net goes next month. I'm looking forward to it.

    11 meter is very quiet?

Sounds like you'll be spending some time at El Rastro.

    Reclaim LSB 16

Some recent posts indicate our friends on WWDX are getting frustrated with the amount of garbage that has been tying up LSB 38. Do we want to make another organized effort to plan another LSB 16 net? I'd be all for it.

Average distance for a Bone Stock 11 Meter SSB radio.

With a magnetic mount on my car, I'm able to talk 20 miles to my base and have been able to go as far as 30. There is a station 25 miles away that I can talk to base to base with no problems.

    38 LOWER: thats awesome!

The crap that has creeped onto LSB 38 is one of the reasons several of us on here were trying to revitalize LSB 16. We had some success, but not on a consistent enough basis. But I'm not opposed to trying again.

Ridiculous Amounts of Interference From Neighbors LED Lights.

Similar problem. My neighbor's outdoor LED lighting completely kills my ears.

    GMRS Repeater Linking Banned

And keep in mind how drastically the technology has changed. A telephone line as originally defined had much more limited capabilities than a modern (fiber optic) line. Today's telephone line is capable of things that were barely imaginable a generation ago and certainly two. The action that...

    11 meter is very quiet?

The last few months have been relatively quiet but with a regular flow of skip from California. I'll also hear the occasional Utah, Nevada and/or New Mexico station. Unfortunately, it hasn't been too workable with my A99 and 12 watts.

    GMRS Repeater Linking Banned

We need to know more about the facts that motivated that move. My hunch is that there is more of a back story than what is being let known. That said, the FCC and other administrative agencies arguably no longer have the deference in rule interpretation they once had (before this last term...

    11 meter is very quiet?

It has been amazingly quiet down here, but then these waves of west coast (mostly California) and Australia skip start making their way through. The other 23 hours of the day are dead quiet with conditions prime for local traffic - like talking 40 miles house to boat on SSB with both stations...

    Reclaim LSB 16

I tried several times over the 6th and the 7th. Nothing. Skip conditions were pretty dead across the band. I did hear a 357 on LSB 38. He said he was near John Wayne airport in Los Angeles. One or two other California stations came in, too. 429 in Gettysburg, PA also came in on LSB 38...

    Reclaim LSB 16

SATURDAY, JULY 6th and SUNDAY, JULY 7th We started the "Reclaim LSB 16" effort a few years back with nets that we'd schedule once a month and then every two weeks. I'm thinking of sticking to something like that going forward. The 4th of July falls on a Thursday this year. That means lots of...

    tube tester

I bought some 5751s and some EL 84s from Jim Cross many years ago. A buddy of mine and I went over to his operation and he gave us the tour. He definitely had the equipment.

    Ah the good old days

My .64 took a lightning strike. The antenna was well grounded. Structurally, it survived the strike fine...except that the coil got fried.

    Ah the good old days

The 1/2 appearing in the ad is the first CB bse station antenna I ever had. It was a decent performer, but was outperformed by their 5/8 wave and the High Gain Super Penetrator. I later bought the Radio Shack .64 omni. It was excellent!
